Every OPR frame is designed by our founders, Idriss and Federica. Idriss is French, Federica is Italian. Together they spent ten years living in Italy before moving to New York and founding OPR in 2021. Every design decision, proportion, material, color, passes through both of them.
Every OPR frame is handcrafted in Italy by a small group of family-run workshops we have known personally since before OPR existed. The acetate comes from Mazzucchelli and Laes in Italy. Each frame passes through more than eighty individual steps before it reaches your face.
OPR frames start at $345. A complete pair with prescription lenses typically ranges from $650 to $1,000, depending on lens type and complexity. We use Essilor and Shamir lenses. There are no hidden fees and complimentary shipping and returns are included on all US orders.
The Signature Edit is our private fitting method, conducted personally by Idriss and Federica. It begins with a conversation about you, your face, your presence, the version of yourself you want to put forward. From there, we select three to five frames specifically chosen for your face before you see a single option. The session is complimentary, unhurried and has no agenda other than finding the frame that is precisely right for you.
We do not set a time limit. The fitting ends when the frame is right, not when the clock says so.
Yes. Bring your most recent prescription and we will work from it. If you do not have a current prescription, we can recommend a trusted optometrist nearby and schedule your fitting once you have one.
Yes. We fit all lens types including single vision, progressive, reading and prescription sunglasses. Bring your current prescription. We use Essilor and Shamir lenses and have an in-house lab for edging and custom tinting.
We are currently out of network with vision insurance plans. However, we can provide you an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement, depending on your plan.
Yes. HSA and FSA cards attached to a Visa or Mastercard are accepted for both frames and prescription lenses.
Frames without prescription lenses typically ship within two business days. Frames with prescription lenses are ready in 4 to 10 business days depending on lens complexity. We will keep you informed throughout.
Every frame you try at OPR was designed by the two people fitting you. Most eyewear stores, including those selling premium frames, employ staff who sell products their employer selected. At OPR, the founders personally design, source, fit and follow up. There is no layer between the people who made it and the person wearing it.
Warby Parker was built to make eyewear accessible and affordable. That is genuinely valuable. OPR was built for a different purpose: to give every client the experience of finding the frame that is precisely right for their face, their presence and the version of themselves they want to present. The two businesses are not competing. They serve different needs. If you want someone to take your face seriously and find the frame that will still be right in 5 years, that is what we do.
Yes. We work with clients from across the US and internationally. We offer a virtual consultation to discuss your face and preferences, take remote measurements using our measurement guide and ship anywhere in the US with complimentary shipping and returns. Many of our most loyal clients are not New York residents, they visit when in the city or order remotely.
Every spring, we reach out to every OPR client personally to check in. We ask how the frames are wearing, whether the fit still feels right and invite you to come in for a complimentary clean, adjust and realign. This is not a sales call. It is part of our commitment to the frame we made for you.
Before summer, we invite clients to a private session focused specifically on sunglasses, chosen around how you plan to live the season. We discuss the trips you are taking, the occasions that matter and the version of yourself you want to present in natural light. Like the Signature Edit, it is private, unhurried and complimentary.
